1.0.3 October 9, 2026
Updates
- In-place updates: from this version on, updating downloads only what changed instead of the whole game.
Run the one-line update command. This is the last full download for anyone already
playing.
- No more engine logo at launch: a dark screen until the title appears.
Quests
- A new quest journal: Main and Other tabs, search, the details of each quest, and a Track button that the
on-screen objective follows.
- Stuck? Ask for a hint on any open quest.
- Five new side quests across Barovia, fully voiced, for parties from level 3 to level 10.
Dice, spells and items
- The emerald d20 has its own sounds, and now rolls for your heroes' saving throws in fights, death saves
included.
- Protection from Evil and Good and 26 other touch spells can be cast outside fights. Only the costly
components a spell uses up are needed.
- Nolzur's Marvelous Pigments paint real objects, worth up to 25 gp a pot.
Interface and fixes
- The inventory opens at once, even the first time.
- Liriel's portrait, redrawn again.
- Take gold works after you've taken every item.
1.0.2 October 9, 2026
Combat
- A new combat bar: icons on every action, costs at a glance, a row for your resources, and your chance to
hit and the damage shown over the foe you're aiming at. Filters down the side sort your options, with spells
split by level.
- Examine: right-click any creature for its card.
- Shared turns: heroes next to each other in the turn order act together, as in Baldur's Gate 3. Prefer one
at a time? Change it under Settings → Party turns.
- Every hero can Long Jump, and throws show their arc before you let go.
- A tactical top-down camera on O, in fights and while exploring.
- Enemies plan their turns without freezing the screen.
Dice and rules
- An emerald 3D d20 rolls for conversation and overworld checks.
- No Long Rest while enemies remain anywhere in the building, and 16 hours between Long Rests.
- Honour runs can no longer be reloaded: one life, one save.
World, loot and quests
- Walk Castle Ravenloft's gate wall, 30 feet up, and see the keep's new roof.
- L-shaped buildings, and doorframes inside in the Modern look.
- Every random encounter now pays a fitting reward, random loot is uncommon or better, and the finds along
the roads have moved into the places of the main story.
- New side quests, fully voiced.
- The Last Egg, a new side quest high in the mountains for seasoned parties.
Interface and art
- The inventory's paper doll: slots on a figure, a quiver and a focus slot, and the bag and stash as
lists.
- Thinner fog, and redrawn portraits, Liriel's among them.
- Pick how you fight on a controller in Settings → Game: the action bar, or BG3-style action wheels. Both
have a Tactical view for a top-down look at the battlefield.
Fixes
- The party falling outside a fight no longer locks the game.
- A move that's cut short now stops on a square it can stand on.
- Large creatures no longer teleport into walls.
- Cutscene pictures fade in instead of freezing the first time they show.
- Fixed a rare error when a scene closed while a dice roll was still on screen.
1.0.1 October 9, 2026
- The game has its own icon: Castle Ravenloft under the moon.
- On macOS, a disk image: open it and drag the game into Applications. It's signed and notarized by Apple,
so it opens like any other app.
- Cleaner dialogue busts, with the leftover white around many of them gone.
- More voiced lines.
- Fixed: some side-quest reward weapons and armour arrived as non-items, and one suit of armour dropped your
Armor Class to 0.
- Fixed: a character's first-meeting introduction replayed on every visit.
1.0.0 October 8, 2026
- The first release: the whole Curse of Strahd campaign as a turn-based tactical RPG on the 2024
rules, for macOS and Windows.
