Stat block

A slow, blind mass of black acid that eats armor and weapons; blades and lightning only make more of it.

• Immune: acid, cold, lightning, slashing
• Condition immunities: blinded, charmed, deafened, exhaustion, frightened, grappled, prone, restrained
• Senses: blindsight 60 ft; passive Perception 8

Traits

• Amorphous. The pudding can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch without spending extra movement.
• Corrosive Form. A creature that touches the pudding, or hits it with a melee attack from within 5 feet, takes 4 (1d8) Acid damage. Nonmagical ammunition that hits it is destroyed, and a nonmagical metal or wooden weapon that hits it takes a lasting -1 penalty to attack rolls, crumbling away at -5.
• Spider Climb. The pudding can climb difficult surfaces, ceilings included, without an ability check.

Actions

• Dissolving Pseudopod. Hit: 18 (4d8) Acid damage. Nonmagical armor the target wears takes a lasting -1 penalty to the AC it gives, and is ruined once that brings it down to AC 10.

Reactions

• Separate. Trigger: the pudding is Medium or larger and is struck by Lightning or Slashing damage. Response: it splits into two Black Puddings, each one size smaller with half the original's Hit Points (rounded down). Text only for the engine.
