## Overview

The village's last tavern: a smoky common room, a bar with nearly empty casks, Ismark drinking alone and three Vistani women in the corner.

The only room in Barovia where people still talk, if quietly. The wine is Purple Grapemash No. 3, and there isn't much of it left.

**Resting:** Safe: a Long Rest here isn't interrupted.

> [!quote]- A scholar's note
> Third night in the village. The barkeep has said eleven words to me, four of them 'wine'. I have the castle's outline drawn from three sides now, and a list of the windows that are lit. One is lit every night: high in the east tower, a library or I am no judge of shelving. Tomorrow I go up the road. If anyone finds this, send it to the college at Mirabar, where they still have my good pen. Tell them I was right. Tell them he knows I am reading. A. M.
