# Controls

The default keys. Every one can be changed in Settings, Keys, except **Esc** (menus, back, cancel) and **F1** (the controls card), so there's always a way back. A controller works everywhere too.

## Walking and the camera

## Mouse

- Left-click the ground to walk there; left-click a person, door or thing to use it.
- Right-click for a menu of everything you can do with what's under the cursor.
- In a fight, click a square to move (a far click walks as far as it can) or a foe to attack.

## Tips from the loading screens

- Q and E turn the camera.
- Tab changes who leads the party. In a conversation, it changes who speaks for you.
- 1 to 4 pick a party member.
- F5 makes a quick save, and F9 loads it.
- Right-click anything in the world to see everything you can do with it.
- In a conversation, H shows everything that has been said so far.
- A failed check can sometimes be saved: Heroic Inspiration rerolls the d20.
- A failed Persuasion, Intimidation, Deception, Performance or Insight attempt can't be tried twice. Choose who speaks with care.
- In a fight, Space ends your turn and T picks the next target.
- Barovia keeps no secrets from its lord. Strahd may visit when you least expect him.
- Esc opens the menu, with Settings and your saves.
- F1 shows every control.
- M opens the travel map.
