Iancu's cousin Tsura rode the falls path with a letter three days ago. Her horse came home with web on its saddle.

Walkthrough

Getting the quest

Iancu throws knives at a stump at the Tser Pool Encampment between 8 in the morning and 6 in the evening. Once everyone in your party is level 3 or higher, he has stopped throwing. Talk to him and he tells you his cousin Tsura rode out by the falls path three days ago with a letter in her coat, and her horse came home with web on the saddle. That starts the quest and puts The Webbed Gully on your travel map, on the path between the crossroads and Tser Falls.

Step by step

  1. Travel to the Webbed Gully (from the River Ivlis crossroads or from Tser Falls).

  2. Go to the long bundle of web on the ledge at the back of the gully. Tsura is inside it, alive, with one eye open.
  3. Read the web first. Try Nature DC 12 ("Look at how the webs are strung"). On a success you see that every strand runs to the cracks in the walls, and the fight that follows starts normally. On a fail, or if you just cut, the spiders catch your party surprised. Either way, cutting her down starts the fight.
  4. Fight the spiders: three Giant Spiders (AC 14, venomous bite, a web that restrains on a failed DC 13 Dexterity save) and two swarms of spiderlings (Swarm of Insects, which resist weapon damage, so use spells or area attacks on them). The spiders climb the walls, so ranged attackers earn their keep here; free webbed allies quickly.
  5. Talk to Tsura at the ledge after the fight. The letter was hers, to her mother: she was running from a wedding she didn't want.

While you're there, the older bundles further up can be cut open with Medicine DC 13 for 20 gp and an Antitoxin (1d4 poison damage on a fail).

Choices and endings

Choose where Tsura goes. Either way she gives you the wedding rings, a pair of Boon Companions’ Bands, and 40 gp, and Thistle (+2), Wren (+2), Godrick (+1) and Kip (+1) approve.

  • Back to the camp to tell her mother to her face: Iancu later says she's back by the fire and nobody mentions the wedding.
  • On to Krezk: Iancu later says she sent word from Krezk, where she mends nets for an old man, and her mother is packing to visit.

If you're stuck

  • Iancu just throws knives? Someone in the party is below level 3, or it's outside his hours.
  • Can't find the gully on the map? It only appears once Iancu has told you about Tsura.

Asked: Iancu's cousin Tsura rode for the Vallaki camp by the falls path three days ago with a letter in her coat. Her horse came home yesterday with web on its saddle as thick as rope. There's a gully off the falls path where the stream cuts down.
Hint: Take the path from the crossroads toward Tser Falls and turn off into the Webbed Gully, where the stream cuts down.

Cut Down: Tsura was alive, wrapped and hung on a ledge at the back of the gully. We cut her down, and the spiders came out of the walls.
Hint: Go to Tsura on the ledge at the back of the Webbed Gully.

Done (the end: success): Tsura's letter wasn't for the Vallaki camp. It was for her mother, and it said she wasn't coming back to be married. She gave us the wedding rings.
